This is why <strong>Studio SHIFT<\/strong>\u2019s participation in <strong>BAN &#8211; Bosch Alumni Network<\/strong> \u2014 a European platform that promotes intercultural collaboration among civil society organizations \u2014 represents a unique opportunity to tackle crucial <strong>social challenges<\/strong>, strengthen our mission, and <strong>create a positive and lasting impact<\/strong> for the benefit of the community on an international level.<br><br>In this article, we will explore the most significant projects we have accomplished so far through this valuable collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Co-Warming: combating burnout with Design Thinking<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Co(mmunities)-Warming project <\/strong>was born from the collaboration between <strong>Platform Association <\/strong>in Budapest and <strong>Cooperativa Larius<\/strong> in Colico (LC &#8211; Italy), with the aim of addressing an increasingly common issue: <strong>burnout in the workplace<\/strong>, particularly in the cooperative, educational, and artistic sectors.<br>Funded by <strong>the European program Tandem EU III ed.<\/strong>, <strong>Co-Warming<\/strong> focused on the prevention and promotion of workplace well-being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tandem Europe<\/strong> is an initiative developed by the <strong>European Cultural Foundation and MitOst e.V.<\/strong> together with <strong>Fondazione Cariplo<\/strong> with additional financial support from <strong>Robert Bosch Stiftung<\/strong>, <strong>Stavros Niarchos Foundation <\/strong>and<strong> Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie<\/strong>. It is implemented together with <strong>4iS<\/strong> (Aveiro), <strong>COMM\u2019ON <\/strong>(Athens) and <strong>Ideas Factory <\/strong>(Sofia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We used <strong>design thinking<\/strong> as a key tool to develop design skills among participants. Two training workshops, conducted with specific design tools, involved Italian and Hungarian professionals in a constructive dialogue, stimulating both individual and group creativity. Additionally, we developed a set of <strong>graphic cards<\/strong> that not only accompany <strong>the training sessions<\/strong> but can also be used for personal \u201ctraining,\u201d making learning continuous and customizable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXfWafogXFo_mbQRyllvxZqbtRGoBaX-CrJTRvtBXT_GL51_hDYirbclY5S4Ohokf_GIndFRHQwft8C5KAemBXzS90veRabKeeQ0EQSf6E3APnjXm0adNtZ8LP215_69KQO05BNQl1dONGl3q_BacBq3v8U?key=2HrInnqVDKm43DypTzpYlg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Greening IT: A Community of Practice for Sustainability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Greening IT project<\/strong>, initiated by the <strong>Italian Regional Coordinators group of BAN<\/strong> and supported by <strong>International Alumni Center gGmbH<\/strong> (iac Berlin), aims to map the best Italian projects related to <strong>environmental sustainability<\/strong> among network members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration with national and European partners from three countries (Germany, Bulgaria, and Albania), we have designed a <strong>collaborative event<\/strong> (Convivium, to be held in Bari in October) to share best practices and identify transferable project formats (including digital ones) to support the <strong>reduction of environmental impact<\/strong>, promote <strong>eco-sustainable practices<\/strong>, and use appropriate technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project plays an important role in spreading the <strong>concept of \u201cjust transition,\u201d<\/strong> not only among direct participants but also within the communities in which they operate. <strong>Greening IT <\/strong>demonstrates how technology can be a powerful ally in creating a <strong>greener future<\/strong>, concretely contributing to the development of a generation of professionals who are aware and <strong>committed to sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>EMPOWERmental: the new project for Sustainability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, we are working on <strong>EMPOWERmental<\/strong>, a new project made possible with the support of <strong>Erasmus+<\/strong>. This initiative aims to create networks of professionals specifically trained in <strong>mental health awareness<\/strong>, promotion, and management, using a <strong>design thinking approach<\/strong>, the arts, and cross-border collaboration. The goal of <strong>EMPOWERmental<\/strong> is to create links between the <strong>mental health sector<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>participatory arts<\/strong> in order to support each other and jointly encourage people to take an active role in their own lives and work towards their own and their peers&#8217; <strong>mental well-being<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through <strong>co-creation<\/strong> <strong>and knowledge sharing<\/strong> among partners from different countries, <strong>EMPOWERmental <\/strong>proposes a winter school dedicated to this theme (in Budapest, January 2025) to train 20 international professionals and stimulate real and sustainable change that can endure over time. The project is led by <strong>Ziggurat Project<\/strong>: an independent interdisciplinary art collective based in Budapest, collaborating on local and international projects in the cultural and educational fields since 2015. In addition to <strong>SHIFT<\/strong>, representing Italy, the other involved partners are <strong>Dinamica from Hellin<\/strong> (Albacete), Spain, and <strong>PST &#8211; Priestor Sucasneho Tanca o.z.<\/strong> from Ko\u0161ice, Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXd3Yh_uDVY99_jOkm_0DnsDhd0FGdecvYvdeIAic4rydEVHOQHsO81uY4sjyB2Z401qd0Im4zK_GUvFws4gSVP6EtDB6RAXb-ZitJ2hGB81fz-Grw5uB_VPxlAJgtLjOhmnOUhYL3jCtbRzo5Noj05rpJUW?key=2HrInnqVDKm43DypTzpYlg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Studio SHIFT and the BAN network for social and cultural innovation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our experience with <strong>European communities<\/strong> also extends to active participation in the <strong>VoC &#8211; Voices of Culture network<\/strong>, specifically in the cluster \u201cCulture and creative sectors and industries driving green transition and facing the energy crisis\u201d (2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> maintains regular dialogue wit<strong>h European organizations <\/strong>from the cultural and creative sectors and industries, as part of its activities in the field of culture. From 2015 until 2023, the Commission organized a structured dialogue called <strong>VoC<\/strong>, as part of the <strong>New European Agenda for Culture<\/strong>. It provided a framework for discussions between civil society stakeholders and the Commission and was implemented by the <strong>Goethe-Institute<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VoC<\/strong> selects and brings together organizations dedicated to social and cultural innovation from all European countries, based on their expertise and thematic interests. <strong>SHIFT<\/strong> was selected among the 30 organizations in the <strong>Creative and Cultural Industries sector<\/strong> as the Italian representative (along with CSGI from the University of Florence) to participate in the reflection and revitalization sessions held in Tartu from June 14-16, 2023. This resulted in a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/assets\/eac\/culture\/docs\/voices-of-culture\/voices-of-culture-brainstorming-report-green-transition-2023_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brainstorming Report<\/a><\/strong> rich in case studies, insights, and guidelines for the future of the cultural sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Studio SHIFT&#8217;s projects make a difference<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These networks have allowed us to create <strong>valuable collaborations<\/strong> and develop joint projects on topics such as <strong>urban regeneration<\/strong> and<strong> social inclusion<\/strong>, providing us with the ideal platform to expand the impact of our work and amplify the reach of our projects&#8217; best practices. <strong>Studio SHIFT<\/strong>&#8216;s projects carried out on a European scale demonstrate how <strong>design thinking <\/strong>can be a powerful catalyst for building more <strong>resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities<\/strong>.
