<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe vision: putting talents at the centre<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nThe project is built on the idea that, starting from an awareness of one’s own abilities and with clear – and stimulating – information, young people can make informed and motivated choices. In Alpha Skills, we wanted to create concrete tools that are not only informative, but also inspirational, capable of bringing out young people’s passions and talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the Alpha Skills project, ready-to-use materials were developed for all professional figures connected to the world of school, career guidance, and the development of the talents of boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 15, with a specific focus on careers in the field of sustainability and the green economy. Starting this journey from a young age is crucial, as early educational choices have a profound impact on future academic and professional paths: this approach fosters positive school experiences in the short term and contributes, in the long run, to the formation of determined and more self-aware professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the project, the young people involved had the opportunity to explore emerging themes and professions linked to the ecological transition, discover their own talents, interests and skills within the green competence framework as defined in 2021 by the Joint Research Centre in GreenComp: the European sustainability competence framework<\/em><\/a>, and connect them with possible study and career paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe central message of the materials developed by the project is threefold:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- placing the individual’s talents, skills and interests at the heart of the process;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- informing young people in an attractive, accessible and engaging way about the opportunities available to them in the field of sustainability and the green economy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- experiencing that in the future every “career” will be able to – and must – be rethought and pursued with approaches and competences that are more respectful of Nature, its cycles and biodiversity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The journey: a collaborative initiative built across multiple phases<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nThe project was developed through a strong international partnership: Het Beroepenhuis (Belgium), as lead partner, brought its expertise as a centre of excellence in career guidance for young people in the Flanders region; Studio Shift contributed its competences in design thinking and career design toolkits; Margherita Societ\u00e0 Cooperativa Sociale (Italy) offered the group its specialisation in social inclusion and community engagement beyond the school environment; and finally, the cultural association Imago Mundi (Romania) brought to the partnership its experience in youth empowerment, with particular attention to rural areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.studioshift.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2025_09_AlphaSkills_TtT_Ghent_22-1024x576.jpeg\")
<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe collaboration between these multidisciplinary organisations led to the development of four distinct methodologies, each conceived by one of the partner organisations and subsequently consolidated through international exchange and piloting. This shared process made it possible to integrate diverse competences and complementary approaches, strengthening the quality and innovation of the results achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To arrive at the final definition of the methodologies, the project followed a structured process divided into five main phases, each with specific and interconnected objectives – explored further in the article Alpha Skills Project<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe methodologies and tools were adapted to different local contexts, taking into account the cultural, educational and social specificities of each partner country. Field testing measured the effectiveness of the activities in real contexts through rigorous analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data collected. Every step was designed to ensure that the tools are genuinely usable and replicable, turning ideas into concrete practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Project outcomes: impacts and results<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nOver three years, starting from 2023, Alpha Skills generated significant impact on multiple levels: it provided educators with practical tools and innovative methodologies to renew academic and career guidance; it offered young people concrete opportunities to explore their talents and careers linked to sustainability; and it contributed, at a local level, to spreading a more inclusive work culture attentive to the green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The numbers tell the story of the impact: the project reached a wide audience across partner countries, engaging over 150 professionals from the world of education and career guidance and more than 300 young people in a variety of settings, including schools, youth centres and non-formal education environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project concluded with a series of promotion and dissemination events, including the international event held in Romania, which marked the official closing of the journey. The event, held in hybrid format – both online and in person – involved approximately 90 participants from the various partner countries. During the plenary session, the partners retraced the main milestones of the project, presenting the results achieved and the lessons learned, and offering live and online content for teachers, educators, and career guidance trainers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the final event, the four methodologies were explored in detail, showcasing the richness and complementarity of the approaches developed by the partners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Het Beroepenhuis<\/strong> worked on the Wind Energy Lab and the Sun Energy Lab, two mobile and interactive installations designed to spark students’ curiosity about professions in the world of green energy. They also developed Fest it Up, a platform that leverages gamification: here, young people become event organisers and must weigh their choices to create the most sustainable event possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Imago Mundi<\/strong> developed the Non-Formal Career Counselling Guide, a guidance methodology centred on a collection of reflective exercises and structured activities that help young people better understand their own abilities, values and professional aspirations, fostering self-awareness and a sense of their future prospects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Cooperativa Margherita<\/strong> proposed an experiential Boot Camp, an immersive hands-on programme in which young people personally engage in career orientation and professional discovery activities alongside their peers, promoting autonomous and responsible choices and the exploration of new realities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Studio Shift<\/strong> advanced the development of the career design tool #FutureMe, adapting it into the Green Edition integrated with the European sustainability competence framework (GreenComp), to guide young people in exploring the careers of the future and developing sustainability-oriented competences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
